Owned and operated by Marion and Kristy Packett, Poplar Ridge Nursery is a small wholesale grower of potted ornamental & native grass liners. We are located on Virginia's Northern Neck in historic Westmoreland County. Our production facility is situated on a 45-acre farm with a beautiful 5-acre pond for irrigation.
Poplar Ridge Nursery is currently producing over eighty varieties of ornamental grasses in 72/t, 2", 2.5" and 3.5" pots. To better meet the needs of our customers, constantly new varieties are added. We encourage our customers to let us know of grass varieties that we should add to our product mix.

Andropogon gerardii ‘Karl’s Cousin’ (‘Nondhwr’)
Beautiful upright, tiny, architectural habit grass that loves full sun to light shade. Behaves in the landscape and stays put allowing other plants to thrive with them in the landscape. Reaches 4’ tall. Zone 4.
Carex leavenworthii
Native sedge of the eastern US forming tidy clumps of fine, bright-green foliage. Grows well in full sun to part shade and tolerates various soils, needing 1-2” of monthly rain in dry spells. Ideal for edging, meadows or naturalizing with wildflowers.
Carex albicans
Graceful, clump-forming, cool-season native sedge with fine, arching foliage and airy spring seed heads. Plants propage gradually by rhizomesand will eventually create colonies. They grow well in dry to moderately moist woodland areas. Perfect for tucking under oaks or along woodland edges. Thrive with little care and resists deer, and provides a welcoming habitat for native wildlife. Plants are 15-20” tall with equal spread. Zones 4-8.

Native! Offers the toughness of the species with an extra dose of ornamental appeal. Upright clumps of fine, blue-green summer foliage shift to coppery-bronze and deep rose tones in fall, holding their form beautifully through winter. Deer resistant, low maintenance, and lasting beauty! Reaches 2-3’ with blooms reaching 3-4’ tall and 18-24” spread. Zones 3-9.
carex divulsa
Hardy, versatile sedge that thrives in various light and soil conditions. Tolerates sun, shade, heat, humidity, clay, sand, and drought. It resists pests, mowing, foot traffic, and deer. Can be used as a lawn alternative, groundcover, or in rain gardens, borders, meadows, rock gardens, and for erosion control. Grows 1-3’ tall and wide. Zones 4-9.
